Room View at Night

Room View at Night

Now this is a photo that I’m happy with. It’s only one photo – not HDR or anything, but it came out very well; the lights are over- exposed, sure, but I still love it. There are a few stars visible in the sky too, for bonus points.

Fire Troupe

Fire Troupe

It’s Duncan and his fire hula-hoop again. But it’s just so cool, and the trails look like they’re orbiting him (as they are) in a relatively long exposure photo like this.

Experimenting

Experimenting

A little bored in the reading room, wanting to procrastinate, I toyed with the manual settings on the camera that I hadn’t before – notably the ISO settings. This was ISO 400 – and it shows. Useful to have as an option though, and I should really know everything that my camera can do!

Pav

Pav

Yay, Pav – the last one before the dreaded exams – boo. Jon sports some fetching headwear, and I’m not sure whose hand is in the extreme bottom left.

NOT MICROWAVABLE

NOT MICROWAVABLE

A shame, really. I was looking forward to microwaving my Duracells in the evening as a quick snack.

STOP

STOP

Found outside the Cavendish. Clearly the work of a comic genius.

Look up at the sky

Look up at the sky

This was taken during Phil Hair’s birthday barbeque, for which we were blessed with sunshine for (though it had sort of gone by the time this photo was taken).

Staircase

Staircase

This is my staircase; we have movement sensitive lights after the refurbishment, so this took a little bit of patience to set up; I had to wait for the light on the bottom floor to go out, then go upstairs to take this shot. I couldn’t get high enough to give an even border of stairs top and bottom, unfortunately, but I’m still pretty satisfied with how this came out.

It’s a tie.

It's a tie.

Game evening in the bar, starting with ‘Pass the Bomb’, received by Rhiannon for her help with the Telethon. We moved onto cards and then Kat started playing with my shoelaces, as she is wont to do, but I then got sprung by her and Jon and I ended up with this collection of items. Just to be clear, my shoes are tied to each other, my keys, the bomb from Pass the Bomb, and a partially full can of Orangina.

Pre-exam shindig

Pre-exam shindig

Irish Phil hosted a pre-exam shindig in his room which I joined after returning from a Fire Troupe Committee meeting. Much merriment was had by all.
