June 28, 2007Life of Pi
June 27, 2007I finally finished the third book on my list of four today, and loved it. The Five People You Meet in Heaven didn’t really live up to my expectations (though I had been warned that it wasn’t great) but Life of Pi definitely did. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and I’m a little sad that I won’t be able to read it for the first time again.
Free Tunes
June 26, 2007With my iPod, I got ten free songs. I’d also got three free songs out of the minute draws with Coke – unfortunately, the new Sister Hazel album (BAM) is fifteen tracks – I was two short. On the way to post a letter in a box just around the corner, I found two bottles of Coke with labels still on. This says a couple of things: i) Litter is apparently a bigger problem than I remember at home ii) I now have the new Sister Hazel album.
Badminton
June 25, 2007Moseyed on down to Leisure World today to play badminton with Jon, Bish and Sam. It took me a while to find my racquet but after a couple of games the grip started disintegrating. It’s a bit of a shame – this particular racquet has done me well over the last few years; I might try and find a replacement grip, but a replacement racquet is going to be considerably more easy to find.

June 23, 2007Bored Jon
June 22, 2007A bored Jon is a dangerous thing, especially when left alone with acomputer. He ended up rotating the outputted video of (both of)Chris’ monitors, and also set an event that opened the Windows version dialog box every five minutes from 11:50 for 24 hours, everyday. After watching Blues Brothers, however, Chris held Jon hostage – admittedly fairly – until he sorted it out. I said goodbye to a lotof people this evening though, which is never fun, as I’m leaving early tomorrow.
Erdnase Change
June 21, 2007I’ve learned how to do the Erdnase Change – sliding my hand backwards and forwards on top of a deck to change the visible card, with the sliding hand shown empty before and after. It still needs a lot of practise, but it’s already looking reasonably good. I’ve always liked this effect, and it’s nice to finally be able to do it, to some extent.
