Chris got back today, so myself, Gen and Chris went to the pub to catch up with Jess; a jolly time was had by all.

Kat and I are parenting again, so of course I had to go on the Freshers’ Pub Crawl with my children, one of whom is in the shot (far left). Curiously, most of the freshers in this shot are Physicists (at least nominally). I’m aware of white balance issues here, but there’s only so much you can do with a compact indoors with no flash!

I hate moving back to college at the start of the year; with no overhead locker to use, there’s so much more stuff than at the start of other terms.

This is the amber tree that sits on the coffee table at home. What impressed me most about this photo was quite how much detail in the leaves that my camera managed to capture.

In town, I spied this home-made Halo 3 sign in Gamestation; upon closer inspection, it was clear that the bits of circuitboard on the sign were, in fact, parts of consoles – specifically, a PS2 and a Saturn. How cruel!

A massive storm blew through today in the space of ten minutes; elsewhere it ripped off roof tiles, but the most it did here was absolutely destroy everyone’s paper recycling that they’d put out. It took a while to clean up.

Another in the vein of trying to photograph something that is quite difficult: droplets on the window. The two in the middle are okay, but the rest aren’t, really. I quite like the division of the background by the tops of the trees, though.

My specially bound Jasper Fforde from winning the competition is taking a long time to get sorted out, so the organiser sent me a few books as compensation, which was both completely unnecessary and awesome of them. I’ve started the middle one here, and it’s okay so far, but nothing special. It will, however, almost certainly be the last book that I hit up on my summer read.

After Sam’s, a few of us decanted to Flo’s to play a game that is a variant on Taboo. How well the night went for people can probably be read fairly accurately from the state of them this picture.
