I admit it, I’m definitely a physicist. Chris and I spent far too long admiring the patterns in the bottom of this cup which were created by Chris rhythmically rotating it backwards and forwards, setting up some form of standing wave pattern. We weren’t ashamed of our fascination.

Dan, over the course of the last couple of days, has located two long poles that are hard. For some reason, a battle royale for the control of the poles took place between Dan, Sam, Chris, and the second year mathmo on my staircase. What better place to have this battle than in the computer room?

Churchill College Film Society was showing the History Boys today, so Georgia came down to college to visit me and watch it. Slightly different to the play, which I prefer, but still very enjoyable.

Coming back after seeing Stardust, we all went to check our post. Hamish busted out the Party Rings which he keeps in his pigeonhole, in case the need for a Post Room Party arises. Which, to be fair, it did.

It seemed like a good idea at the time to stay up until 4AM with Sarah after Pav. We did have a great time though, alternating between quite ‘deep’ discussions (e.g. the nature of truth) and silliness, such as this: making hairy people out of her scarf.

The physicists have started going to cafe as soon as it opens or even camping out in the Second Pav Room, waiting for them. I’m not sure what I’ve just said to Dan, but he doesn’t look terribly impressed.

Leaving college last year, I had the highest score on the Virtua Tennis machine. Early this year, Richard beat it. Today was my return to power, mere hours after finishing my report and thus freeing up the time I needed to try. I was honestly expecting more of a grind, but it just sort of happened.

Hanging around at the Cavendish for a supervision in the afternoon, I decided to eat lunch outside by the pond. These ducks were clearly hungry, as as soon as I sat down they surrounded me.
